The PTA sponsors many great programs throughout the school year. Below are a list of the different committees and their chairpersons. Please refer to your school directory for committee chair contact information. To volunteer for a particular committee or to inquire about a vacant position, please contact the committee chair or the PTA board.

Community Connection

Coordinate fundraising events with local restaurants.  In the past we have partnered with Culver’s, Pizza Hut, Which Wich, Monks, Menchies, Pizza Brutta, etc.

Farm to School

Farm to school is a program coordinated through the district to get students to taste test fresh, locally grown foods during their lunch hour. Volunteers are needed once a month to set-up, serve and clean-up.

Homecoming Parade

Sunset Ridge will join other Middleton area schools and clubs and walk in the parade procession on the streets surrounding the high school. Please come and watch the parade and cheer loud for the Sunset Ridge float and Sunny the Lion! We also welcome students of PTA members to walk with our float.

Hot Dog Picnic

Friends and family are invited to come and eat lunch outside on the lawn with the students.  Assistance is needed for coordinating the lunch count, set up, food distribution and clean up. {more info}

Movie Night

A kid-friendly movie is shown in the gymnasium of Sunset Ridge. All students and their families are invited to attend. Committee members are needed to pick the movie, organize, advertise the event, coordinate concessions and sell glow items.

Pasta Dinner

The school lunchroom is turned into an Italian Restaurant. Help is needed to advertise the event, coordinate the food order, keep track of sales, decorate the lunchroom and solicit volunteers for the event.  In the past, a local Italian restaurant or the district central kitchen provides the food. {more info}

Product Labels / Earning for Learning

Room Parent Coordinator

Room parents are needed for Kindergarten to 4th grade classes to assist the teachers in organizing classroom parties and activities.

Scholastic Book Fair 

This event earns money for our school library. The committee is responsible for coordinating logistics with Scholastic to set up and promote the book fair, as well as organizing set-up, tear down, volunteer recruitment, keeping track of sales, securing teacher wish lists, etc. {more info}

School Directory

Sunset Ridge offers a school directory for a nominal fee. The committee compiles and organizes directory data, coordinates with the printing company, collects orders and distributes the printed directories.

School Supply Kits

We currently work with SchoolKidz to offer back-to-school supply kits and make shopping easy. The committee coordinates with SchoolKidz, sends out ordering information to families in Spring 2018 and distributes the kits on Registration Day of the next school year. {more info}

Science Fair

The science fair open to all Sunset Ridge students. The committee coordinates the ordering and pick-up of tri-fold presentation boards for participants, secures judges, ribbons or trophies and organizes science-related presentations during the event. In some years, there is a kick-off assembly to get kids excited. The Advanced Learning Specialist will assist the committee in planning. {more info}

Spirit Wear

Sunset Ridge spirit wear (sweatshirts, tshirts, etc.) are sold to families during the school year as a fundraiser. Volunteers are needed to select wearables, work with distribution company, collect money and distribute merchandise. {more info}

Square One Art

Collaborate with Square One Art and the art teacher for this unique art inspired fundraiser.  Every student creates a special piece of artwork that is sent to Square One Art where it is transformed into a keepsake.

Staff Appreciation

Breakfasts, lunches and dinners are provided for the staff during conferences, teacher appreciation week, and at the end of the year. The committee is responsible for planning and coordinating the event as well as getting volunteers to send various food or related items for the meals and managing set-up/clean up. {more info}

Sun Run

This event is geared toward motivating our students to be healthy and active! This is an all-school fundraiser that will happen during the school day. This is one of our larger events. The committee will coordinate sponsorships, volunteers, music/food, race course logistics, advertising and more! {more info}

Thanksgiving Luncheon

Family and friends are invited to a Thanksgiving-themed lunch at Sunset Ridge.  Volunteers are needed for coordinating the lunch count, planning the setup, decorations and food service. {more info}

Trunk or Treat

A school favorite, participating families decorate their car trunks and hand out candy in the school parking lot.  Students come in costume to trick or treat with their Sunset Ridge friends. The committee is responsible for soliciting families to decorate vehicles, coordinating attendees, securing a DJ for the event, managing concessions, supplying allergy-free candy, etc. {more info}

Winter Carnival

A student favorite, this is one of our larger events. The committee organizes concessions, games, prizes, ticket sales, decorations, volunteers and more.  Each classroom is responsible for a carnival game which will be set up and run by classroom parents and their children. {more info}

Winter Tea & Art Showcase

A cherished school tradition. The gym is transformed into a winter wonderland with decorations, lights, and artwork from every student. Families from all grades donate cookies for this event and the Middleton High School Orchestra provides live music. The committee coordinates cookie donations, decorating, setup, serving, and clean up after the event.{more info}

Coordinate with HR Imaging to create a yearbook that showcases the events of the school year. Committee members are needed to take photos at school events, field trips, specials, etc. and coordinate with others to submit photos.
